Privacy Policy

How TaleemiMarkaz collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

Effective date: 13 August 2026
Who we are: QUALITY MINDER PTY LTD (ACN 648 476 993), a company registered in Australia ("we," "us," "our"), operator of TaleemiMarkaz ("the Service").

1. Our approach

We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We collect the minimum we need to run the Service, and we do not use your personal information for any purpose beyond providing the Service to you.

2. What we collect

  • Account information: your email address and name.
  • Study activity: practice attempts, answers, scores, section and sub-topic breakdowns, mock-test results, and progress figures.
  • Preferences: settings such as your chosen theme.
  • Technical information: basic device and usage data needed to operate and secure the Service, and error/monitoring data.

We do not seek to collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you when you create an account and use the Service, and automatically as you interact with it.

4. Why we use it

To provide the Service and your progress tracking; to save and apply your preferences; to maintain security, prevent misuse, and fix faults; and to communicate with you about your account or the Service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling beyond your own progress reports.

5. Young people

Some users may be under 18. We collect only what is needed for study and progress tracking, do not use young users' data for advertising or profiling beyond their own progress reports, and encourage a parent or guardian to be aware of a minor's use of the Service.

6. Where your data is stored (cross-border)

We operate from Australia, and many of our users are located in Pakistan. Your personal information is stored and processed by our infrastructure providers outside your country of residence:

  • Your account and study data are stored in a database hosted in India (Amazon Web Services, Mumbai region).
  • The application that serves the Service runs on infrastructure located in the United States (Washington, D.C. region).

Where we disclose or store personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 8. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information will be stored and processed in these locations.

7. How long we keep it, and deletion

We keep your account and personal information only while your account remains active and identifiable to you. By default, if an account has no practice session, mock test, or login for 3 months, we anonymise it rather than delete it outright: your name, email address, and password are permanently removed, and the account can no longer be accessed or linked back to you. Your historical study activity (such as practice and test records) is kept in this de-identified form so we can maintain accurate service statistics — it is no longer linked to you. This inactivity window resets every time you use the app, and you can change it in your Profile: 3, 6, or 12 months, or indefinitely, which turns off automatic anonymisation for your account entirely. You may also request deletion of your account at any time.

8. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted service providers to run the Service, who process data only on our instructions — including our application hosting provider, our database provider, our email provider, and our error/performance monitoring provider.

9. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, restricted server-side access to content, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and improve safeguards over time.

10. Your rights

You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information, and you may request deletion of your account. To make a request, contact us through Help & Support in your Profile within the app. We will respond within a reasonable time.

11. Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.

12. Cookies and local storage

We use only the storage necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

13. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us first through Help & Support in your Profile. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the OAIC (oaic.gov.au).

14. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in the Service.
